If you are searching for something entirely different from the new age genre, then Oxum, the latest track from Aco Takenaka, will satisfy that need. The track is from her forthcoming album Wisdom Seeds, due out in October.
Although she is singing in another language and you may not
understand her, the vocals are mesmerizing and soothing as can be. You can feel
her sincerity and true self in the inflection and tone of her message.
One of the highlights, besides her gorgeous vocalizations, is
the music backing her. You will hear the consistent percussive elements and the
sound of running water courtesy of the Water Bowl. The sound it makes puts you
by a clear running stream. The powers of relaxation are inherent in those
sounds, which in turn enhance her vocals.
Aco’s world-new age work and the tools she uses make her a
crossover artist in the ambient and folk genres, to name a few. Those listeners
who appreciate eclectic audio offerings will be glad they discovered her magic
through song and sound.
Her philosophy is succinctly expressed in her words: “The sound of the deepest truth should resonate with people across cultures.”
